Naples and Pompei

Napoli and Pompei are two of the most popular destinations in Italy, whether for their beauty, the importance that they had in Italian history or the great local cuisine (we recommend to taste the mozzarella di bufala).
Naples lays on the homonym gulf, just under the Vesuvius, drawn in one of the most beautiful views in Italy. Founded by greek colonists during the IX century b.C., it has during the three glorious milleniums of history been through glorious moments as well as stranger dominations, without loosing importance (even in a National Level). During the Bourbon reign (1774), Naples reaches its highest level, becoming one of the main cities in Europe, along with Paris and London.
Pompei is a one of a kind true outdoor Museum. A tremendous eruption of the Vesuvius in 79 A.D., covered the whole town with lava, “freezing” it in a sombre photograph. It’s possible to visit the ruins and the excavations that brought the city to light, with hundreds of bodies turned to stone by the lava while they were sleeping or walking on the streets.
Both Naples and Pompei were declared World Heritage by the UNESCO.
