Siena and Florence

Siena and Florence are two pearls in one of the most beautiful italian regions: Tuscany.
Siena was an important centre during the medieval times, trasforming later into the magnificient city under August The Emperor. During those days started the problems with Florence. During Renaissance Siena was attacked for a whole year by the troups of Carl V, sent and endorsed by Florence.
Among the stops that you must visit during your stay in Siena are the Palazzo Comunale, the Torre del Mangia, the Cappella di Piazza and the Logge del Papa e della Mercanzia.

Firenze, on the other hand, was sombre during Middle Age, mainly because of the civil war between the Guelphs and the Ghibellines, but flourishes completely during the XIV century, when poets, scientists and artist of every kind will form te movement that will close an Age (Middle Age) and open the next one: Renaissance. During the XV century Florence will have superior incomes than the whole England. Thanks to big patrons (above all we remember the De'Medici family), the city will reach its highest level: during those days were built many of the main attractions, such as the Palazzo Vecchio in Piazza della Signoria, the Galleria degli Uffizi, many churches and cathedrals adorn the city with unique innovation and culture.
